Mangaluru, Mar 14: Police commissioner Sandeep Patil has instructed all the pubs operating in the city to close their business as per the rules stipulated by the government and as mentioned in the licence. In addition, he has ordered all the pubs to install CCTVs inside and outside the premises of the pubs.

The commissioner informed that care must be taken to prevent the use of drugs inside the pubs and necessary safety measures should be put in place to ensure the safety of women.

"Some pubs in the city are operating till late in the night. This is causing public nuisance. In addition, police department is receiving complaints from the citizens to take action against the inconvenience caused due to the late operations of the pubs, which causes unruly behaviour by the youngsters. So the owners of pubs in the city were called and a meeting was conducted in this connection," said the police commissioner.

The commissioner also said that strict legal action will be taken against the violators of law. Sandeep Patil also gave information that 12 new breath analyzers have been purchased and the same are used to check the drunken driving violation every day. Special checks are conducted on weekend days of Friday, Saturday and Sunday by installing zigzag barricades at strategic places in the city.

Here is senior Police Officer - Mr. Sanjov Patill the [present commissioner of Police who means what he says and says what he means. AS THE SAYING GOERS THERE IS A TIME AND PLACE FOR EVERYTHING. The Police Commissioner has not banned people form drinking but for reasons known to all he has only emphasized the existing ruling. and that is NOT TO BE INSIDE BARS after certain hours.

If one tries to analyse . This is not a fresh ruling but only strict imposition of existing rules.

What is the problem if the bars and pubs are open till 3.00 am?
If the returning crowd creates nuisance to general public, that is where the duty of the police begins. Not in restricting the bar timings!!

    Shankar,

You are absolutely right. In our place police works the opposite way. They will curb the activities just by stating some stupid things. And best of all people agree with the police. little do they know that by restricting business activities they are curbing the growth of the economy.

"The commissioner informed that care must be taken to prevent the use of drugs inside the pubs and necessary safety measures should be put in place to ensure the safety of women."

    Isn't it a funny statement?
If any woman thinks that the pubs are not a safe place for women, why do they have to go there?

It is like when the sea is very rough, I still want to go swimming in the sea and expect the police to be on duty to save me in case I drown.

Great news from the Police chief. First, action against the high decible horns, now the pubs. Next, could you also please clamp down on those who burst fire crackers throughout the night thereby disturbing the peace. This happens practically every other day. Thank you.
