Ballari, Mar 14: A non-bailable warrant was issued for the arrest of Vijayanagar Congress MLA Anand Singh on charges of violation of election code of conduct.

A case was earlier registered against him in Hospet police station in the district.

Special court of elected representatives, which conducted the hearing, had issued summons three times to MLA Anand Singh asking him to appear for court hearings. But he did not appear for any of them. Therefore, the court issued a non-bailable warrant against him and postponed the hearing.

Justice Ramachandra D Huddar, who was annoyed due to the absence of Anand Singh during court hearing, said that escaping court hearings has become a habit for politicians.
