Mandya: Sumalatha confirms contesting for LS from district

Daijiworld Media Network - Mandya (MS)

Mandya, Mar 13: Sumalatha Ambareesh has confirmed on Facebook that she is indeed going to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from the district only.

This statement on Facebook by Sumalatha was in response to rumours making rounds that she is not going to contest from Mandya constituency. In addition, she requested her well-wishers and people in general not to buy any cooked up stories.

The actor partook in a hunger strike organized by like-minded people near the statue of Viswesharaiah in the city urging tickets to only locals. Speaking to scribes, Sumalatha said that she is not bothered about charges against her and she will not comment on them.

Sumalatha, who is on the tour of the district for the past two weeks, pays visits to temples wherever she goes. So far she has visited 15 temples of the district and has visited all the eight taluks including K R Nagar.

The probable opponent of Sumalatha in the constituency, Nikhil son of CM Kumaraswamy and MLA Anita Kumaraswamy is being ably supported by his mother Anita as she is also campaigning for him by visiting temples in the district.

Campaign against D K Shivakumar

A section of the party workers of Congress, who are foreseeing the visit of DKS to the district to ask Congress supporters to vote for Nikhil, have decided to launch 'Go back DKshi' campaign. It has come to light through reliable sources that this section of Congress party workers have threatened to boycott the Congress party meeting if D K Shivakumar asks them to vote in favour of Nikhil acting like an agent of JD (S).

    People,

If Sumalatha wants to win from Mandya, LS Constituency , she should contest from a political party either CONgress or BJP....Maximum votes she could get as Independent is 100,000....

Maximum vote Deve Gowda can get as Independent from Mandya LS Constituency 10,000....

Somebody who does not understand politics well are advising her...nobody with political acumen will advise her to contest as Independent...

BJPees traditional votes during last election was 250,000...if 100,000 votes she gain because of Ambareesh charisma / Sympathy votes...She will win...

    Same with Congress....

    ...Tak...Takk...

Ambarish has huge support and good will , she can win even as independant ...Congress with their foolishness supporting Devegowda and family....Instead they should have finished JDS by not supporting them.
