Mangaluru: Women’s Day celebrated at Srinivas Institute of Technology

Mangaluru, Mar 10: Women cell of Srinivas Institute of Technology in association with JCI Jodumarga Nethravathi organized Women’s Day on March 8.

Dr Malini Hebbar, associate professor from St Agnes College was the chief guest and Dr Bharathi S Shetty, gynecologist and obstetrician was the special invite. The programme was presided over by Dr Thomas Pinto, HOD Mechanical Department. Prof Veena Santhosh Rai, coordinator, Women’s Cell and Prof Amitha Harsharaj, Jcrt chairperson were present.

The inaugural programme was followed by prize distribution to the students who won in the competition held on Awareness of Legal and Women’s rights. A special talk by Dr Malini Hebbar on ‘Women and Stereotypes’, and Dr Bharathi Shetty educated the students regarding Menstrual Health Awareness and Hygiene. Students from different branches of engineering, MBA and MCA were present in the programme.
