Mangaluru: Light fishing, bull trawling, banned - says deputy director

Mangaluru, Mar 8: A release by the office of the deputy director of fisheries here said that as per the order of the state high court, light fishing and bull trawling have been banned.

The official has ordered for compulsory vacation of generators in fishing boats with a capacity of more than five kv immediately. The release also warned that in case of boats violating the order and conducting light-based fishing and bull trawling, electric lights and generators in case of light fishing boats and and bull trawl fishing nets in bull trawling boats would be impounded.
