Mangaluru: CCB police arrest one person for trying to sell MDMA drug to public

Mangaluru, Feb 28: City Crime Branch (CCB) police of the city arrested a person who was trying to sell MDMA (Methylene Dioxy Methamphetamine) to the pubic of the city.

The CCB police acted on definite information and arrested Mohammed Shafiq (21), son of Mohammed Ali, residing at GL 8/20 near Azad Cricket Club, Chokkabettu, Suratkal in the city and confiscated 60 grams of MDMA the market value of which is said to be Rs 1,83,000 and a mobile phone. It is suspected that more people are involved in this racket and investigation in this regard is on.

The accused procured the said drug from Mumbai and was selling the same in the city. The accused and the confiscated items are handed over to the Suratkal police station for further action.

Inspector Shantaram of CCB unit, PSI Shyam Sundar, Kabbal Raj and other personnel took part in the operation.
