Omar Abdullah thanks Modi for speaking for Kashmiris

Srinagar, Feb 23 (IANS): Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday for speaking in favour of Kashmiris.

"Thank you @narendramodi Sahib. Aaj aap ne hamaray dil ki baat keh di," tweeted Abdullah.

Addressing a rally in Rajasthan, Modi said "India's fight is not against Kashmir or Kashmiris".

In another comment, Omar said, "It's been a more than a week since the terrible attack in Pulwama and more than a week that Kashmiris have been bearing the brunt of public anger. Perhaps finally after PM @narendramodi has spoken these forces targeting Kashmiris will stop in their tracks".

Both Omar and another former chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti had criticised the Prime Minister for his silence over attacks on Kashmiri students and businessmen in some states in the aftermath of February 14 Pulwama terror attack.

By threatening Kashmiris, angry ‘nationalists’ are fulfilling Pakistan’s plan. BJP using Kashmir to win the next election which doesn’t have a military solution.

The Pro BJP Channels hardly show any reality of the ground situation and treat them as terrorists for stone throwing. If Kashmir throws a stone is a terrorist. If Patel and Jat destroy property worth Rs35,000 crores gets quota.
Today Kashmiris treated as 'Sikh' after late Indira Gandhi assassination. I appreciate Khalsa Aid extending a helping hand to stranded Kashmiris, rescuing and transporting them home, grateful Kashmiris in the Valley are reciprocating in kind.
I learned the value of hard work by working hard.
