Mangaluru, Feb 22: The police belonging to Kankanady town station have succeeded in arresting a man, who has been accused of cajoling a minor girl from Yekkur to accompany him to his native place and then sexually harassing her.
The arrested accused happens to be Sudesh from Korangrapady, Udupi.
The girl, who had left home for school on February 16, had disappeared. A missing complaint was thereafter registered in Kankanady town police station. The police, who found the girl in the company of the accused at Korangrapady on February 20, had produced her in the presence of Child Welfare Committee.
During the questioning, the girl had confessed that the man had used her sexually. The police, who have registered case against Sudesh under the provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, produced him in the court.
