Panaji: Assembly Congratulates Kakodkar, Gundu, Kelekar

Panaji, Feb 3: The State legislative assembly on Tuesday February 3 congratulated three of its sons for getting bestowed with nation's highest honours.

The assembly congratulated Dr Anil Kakodkar for winning Padma Vibhushan, Dr Suresh Gundu Amonkar for winning Padmashree and Ravindra Kelekar for Gyanpeeth Award.

Chief minister Digamber Kamat termed all the three as real sons of soil who have brought laurels to the state in their respective fields. 

"They always feel proud to call themselves Goans. They will be inspiration for the young generation to excel in various fields," Kamat said.

Leader of opposition Manohar Parrikar and other members also spoke on the congratulatory motion which was moved this afternoon.
