Mentally stable because I do not watch news channels: Anant Kumar Hegde

Daijiworld Media Network – Karwar (DC)

Karwar, Feb 20: Union minister Anant Kumar Hegde is in news again for his controversial remarks. On Tuesday, February 19, he lashed out at the journalists saying that the scribes both in print and electronic media do not write in favour of him.

Speaking to BJP party workers in Alagere in Ankola, Hegde said, "If you want to be peaceful, mentally stable, keep diabetes and BP in control, do not watch news channels. Stop reading newspapers, because they do not write in favour of you. Let them write whatever they want to."

There are many reasons behind Hegde venting anger on media persons. In January, during a job fair, media persons had asked him about the alleged poaching by the BJP as part of Operation Lotus. Instead of replying to the scribes present at the venue, his guards had manhandled them. Local Karwar BJP MLAs and other party leaders had mocked the journalists which enraged the latter who decided to boycott his programmes.

Few weeks ago, when the minister had been to Ankola to inaugurate passport centre, none of the journalists had taken his reactions. Embarrassed, the minister had discussed the matter with his associates and since then he has been venting his anger on the scribes branding them as 'leftists'.

I do not care who wins. But MP's and MLA's should strive hard to bring unity amongst all people and work hard for the betterment of the society. But Anant Kumar has divided the society with his negative approach.

Keep repeating that phrase “I am not mad” and God may have mercy on you and hopefully you will be ok. From your own words now the reason for your arrogance, ignorance and intellectual poverty is very clear - you do not watch news channels and you seem to be living in your own small world of petty politics.

Japan is a primarily athiestic society.....not much followers for organised and formal religions...some are Buddhists which again is athiestic religion....not caring much for religion is the cause of their progress..whereas feku and team care too much for religions...too much support for one's own religion, and too much criticism of other religions....if we follow Japan and work hard and bother less about religions, our country will prosper...not dependent on 0% or 10% or 20%....even at 80%, average Hindu is poor...

This is the first time akh said something from the heart. I’m with you and my dear.

I have the same feeling, times now, zeenews, republictv are manufacturers of fake news. In a hurry to increase their TRP, and thus making instant money they forgot their responsibilities.
