Kundapur, Feb 20: The additional JMFC court here, which took up bail applications filed by three of accused connected with the recent Kota double murder case, rejected them on Tuesday February 19.

District armed reserve police personnel, Veerendra Acharya and Pavan Amin, as well as college student, Pranav Rao, had filed bail applications through their lawyer. Advocate, Ravikiran Murdeshwar, had presented arguments seeking bail. Assistant public prosecutor, Sumangala Naik, opposed the bail application on behalf of the prosecution. The court, after considering both the arguments, rejected the bail applications.

Pavan Amin, a police constable whose bail application was rejected, was ordered to be given to police custody by the court. The other two stand remanded to judicial custody. The police had requested for his custody as they wanted to carry out more investigation with his help, as he had helped the accused to escape. The court ordered him to be remanded to police custody for three days.

In the meantime, the investigation team probing this case succeeded in arresting another accused on Tuesday. The arrested accused happens to be Muhammed Tauseed, resident of Chantaru in Brahmavar. He runs a mutton stall at Brahmavar. He reportedly had provided shelter to the accused. With his arrest, the total number of arrests in the case has reached 17.
