Sullia: Man in drunken state kills mother with stone

Sullia, Feb 20: A man killed his mother by throwing a stone at her. The incident happened at Ankajalu in Kaimana village near Bellare. A complaint about this incident was filed in Bellare police station on Tuesday February 19.

The victim of this incident was Cheenkru (53), wife of Navura, resident of Janata Colony at Ankajalu. The accused happens to be her son, Gopal (33).

Reportedly when Navura was fighting with his wife in drunken stupor three days back, Gopal had tossed a stone normally used for crushing areca nut, towards his mother. The stone had hit Cheenku in her abdomen region, inflicting serious injuries. The injured lady breathed her last on Tuesday.

Bellare police sub-inspector, D N Erayya, has taken up investigation of this case under the guidance of Puttur deputy superintendent of police, Dinakar Shetty.
