Mangaluru, Feb 16: BJP from city south paid homage to the martyrs who lost their lives in the terror attack that occurred at Pulwama on February 14.

The homage was paid at the Kadri War memorial in city on Saturday, February 16.

Speaking on the occasion, Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath said, "We are deeply saddened by the terror attack at Pulwama which claimed over 40 CRPF personnel and the death toll is still rising. Each and every individual in this country have come together in favour of the army and are paying condolence all over the country to the soldiers who have lost their lives in this tragedy. Prime Minister Modi has said that soon the answer will be given for this attack and we are capable enough to do it. People in this country are also expecting the same from our Prime Minister Narendra Modi."

BJP general secretary Capt Brijesh Chowta said, "Everywhere the condolence is conducted for the martyrs and we stand in favour of our army. Our country's biggest challenge is to tackle the Jihadi mentality of people who are in our country and this should be sorted out immediately."

Ex-serviceman Vikram Datta said, "The terrorist who was involved in this attack belonged to this country and he was misguided and made to attack our soldiers. When such things are happening in Kashmir, the same may happen in our region too. We need to be alert of the people in our vicinity. If we found anything suspicious, we need to act immediately by informing the same to the police."

Corporators Roopa D Bangera, Premananda Shetty and others were present.

The Mangaluru unit of BJP pays homage to Pulwama martyrs and remained silent when the Akhila Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha mocked killing of the father of nation Mahatma Gandhi on his anniversary.
It has no words when Maoist attacks in Sukuma, Chattisgarh under its own ruling in 2018. No words when Hindu Mahasabha wants to build a temple of 'Naturam Godse' who killed the father of a nation whose freedom struggle gave us independence.
No words when Mutalik Ram Sena along with Santhan samstha member hoisted Pakistan flag on Indian soil in Sindghagi near Bijapur.
