Bengaluru, Feb 15: In retaliation to JD(S) workers attacking BJP MLA, Preetham Gowda's house for his remark that JD(S) is set to doom with Deve Gowda's demise, BJP released a five-year-old video clip showing Dr Parameshwara recollecting that Deve Gowda had pledged to commit suicide by consuming poison if his party did not come to power in 2013. Parameshwara is seen saying that he had been awaiting that Gowda would consume poison but Gowda did not keep up his promise. "What can we do if he fails to keep up his word?" he is seen saying.

BJP Karnataka unit has shared this video by way of tweet. It has wondered whether the JD(S) workers will now attack Parameshwara's house with stones. "JD(S) workers attacked BJP MLA's house and brutally attacked and injured a BJP worker. If they have so much self esteem, will they now target Parameshwara belonging to a party of the coalition government?" it questioned.

Reacting to the digging of the video clip featuring him that is about five years old, Parameshwara said that the people are aware of the difference between making fun of a leader by the opposition and wishing the death of a veteran statesman. "BJP claims that it has been developing skills. The only skill it has developed is of using old tapes to its advantage," he commented.
