Mangaluru Feb 8: Dakshina Kannada Zilla Muslim Okkutta staged protest at Nehru Maidan on Friday, February 8, condemning the remarks made on Prophet Mohammed by a private TV channel anchor Ajith Hanumakkanavar.

Addressing the protestors, Okkutta president K Ashraf said," It is good to see many people gathered in this protest meet to condemn the remarks on Prophet by TV anchor Ajith Hanumakkanavar. It may be recalled that we never fought over the Quran row that had happened in Bantwal and because of our silence TV anchor Ajith has the courage to make bad remarks about Prophet. Around 800 cases are registered against him but of no use. The government is biased. We are deeply hurt about it. When Quran row happened, a reporter was arrested. But why is Ajith not arrested? When such incidents happen we should join hands and raise our voices seeking justice. Again none should have courage to speak against Prophet and government should take stringent action against those who make remarks against Prophet. We won’t be silent if anyone speaks about Prophet and we condemn Ajith for his remarks.”

“Police have registered an FIR. Because of the discrimination shown by government Ajit has not been arrested. We are deeply hurt that the government has not taken action against him,” he said.

“Today TV channels and newspapers have lost its value and respect. We should protest against Ajith at his office and demand that he is removed from his job. Today’s protest should melt him down completely,” said Khatib Shafi Masjid Mulki B Darami.

In his introductory speech president of Jammath E Islam Hind, Mohammed Kunjhi said," Muslims love Prophet Mohammed more than their parents. There is no building, statue, mosque named after Prophet Mohammed. None of the Muslims carry his photo because Prophet Mohammed is in the hearts of Muslims as we follow and respect him.”

“Several thinkers have praised Prophet Mohammed, but none of them have made bad remarks about him. There are many sources to know about Prophet. Those who pass negative remarks should know about Prophet. People like Ajith Hanumakkanavar and Vishweshwar Bhat have no knowledge about him. Government should take stringent action against those who make bad remarks about Prophet,” added Mohammed Kunjhi.

Muslim leader Hyder Parthipady welcomed the gathering; Siddique Talapady proposed vote of thanks and Hussain Katipalla compered the event.

Hawwa Jumma Masjid Bolangadi Sayyed Yahya Tangal , principal Ikra Arabic school Mohammed Salim Nadvi, principal Al Islahi Arabic college Mohammed Ali Salafi, state president Mohammed Shakib, advocate Muzzaffar Ahmed and others were present.

More than fourteen centuries ago, the Prophet Muhammad established a code of conduct for soldiers that mandated respect for civilians and non-combatants, the environment, animals, and prisoners of war, and the usage of fire as a weapon was strictly prohibited. He also condemned those amongst his followers who mistreated or killed adversaries who offered to surrender, even if they suspected deception from their enemy.
The Prophet Muhammad taught love, kindness, and compassion to his people, and was seen to be the most loving, kind, and compassionate of all of them. The Quran mentions his kind and gentle behavior in these words: "O Messenger of Allah! It is a great Mercy of God that you are gentle and kind towards them; for, had you been harsh and hard-hearted, they would all have broken away from you" (Quran 3:159).
"Stop, O people, that I may give you ten rules for your guidance in the battlefield. Do not commit treachery or deviate from the right path. You must not mutilate dead bodies. Neither kill a child, nor a woman, nor an aged man. Bring no harm to the trees, nor burn them with fire, especially those which are fruitful. Slay not any of the enemy's flock, save for your food. You are likely to pass by people who have devoted their lives to monastic services; leave them alone."

What sort of religion can it be without compassion? You need to show compassion to all living beings. Compassion is the root of all religious faiths. Hinduism. Basavanna, Vachana 247
Practice noninjury, not harming others by thought, word or deed, even in your dreams. Live a kindly life, revering all beings as expressions of the One Divine energy. Let go of fear and insecurity, the sources of abuse. Knowing that harm caused to others unfailingly returns to oneself, live peacefully with God's creation. Never be a source of dread, pain or injury.
The Misconception is the product of a lack of knowledge. Perhaps the TV anchor for his TRP and to please his master has shown the ignorance.

All Angels and prophets are humans ..they cannot be equal to god . While for us humans its easy get entangled in words ..and phrases and start hating each other ..
There is nothing wrong in debating and doubting even great words or philosophy..to clear all your doubts..infact your faith gets stronger and genuine too.
Any blind following without greater understanding ..is bound to breed religious bigots and terrorists.

“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”

Yes, it applies to every religion, texts, traditions, their life & their actions when they were alive.
Every Lamp has Dark shadow the same way all people are not bad or good, but have 2 sides to their personality, the same way some people see the negative side of prophets while others just focus on their positive side.
Beliefs & traditions, let those who follow those prophets or teachers be judges or let it be their choice, others mocking some while protesting if their own gets exposed is not right thing for a healthy society or Peace of a Nation.
Buddha said- if you do not accept insults hurled at you it will go back to those who hurled them, the same way a mirror reflects the light without absorbing any or keeping anything for itself.

When anyone truly loves and respects another person, how can anyone else take that away from you, by simply stating thing to the contrary? I don't understand.

There are 7 billion people on planet earth and as everyone has a free mind, there will be that many opinions. If someone says good about a person, that person does not become good. Likewise, if someone says bad about some person, that person does not become bad.

You are always be known by your words and by your deeds.
