Porvorim: Too little, too late, says Goa Forward Party

Porvprim, Feb 7 (TOI): While welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to meet and discuss Goa’s mining crisis with a delegation of elected representatives and Goa Mining People’s Front, Goa Forward Party suggested that it may be too little, too late.

GFP president Vijai Sardesai also suggested that the delay in resolving the issue will have repercussions for the BJP in the coming Lok Sabha elections and probably in the bypolls too.

“The fact that the Prime Minister is meeting mining dependents and concerned elected representatives is a reflection of the concern that the government has for mining dependents,” he said. “t is a welcome sign though much belated.”
