Karnataka astrologer held for sexually assaulting minor in Sydney

Melbourne, Jan 23: A man from Karnataka was arrested at Sydney International Airport by New South Wales police on charges of sexually assaulting a minor girl on Monday, January 21.

Arjun Muniyappa (31), who is currently living in Australia is the arrested.

The accused had sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl in Liverpool town of Sydney on pretext of foretelling her future for free. He was arrested at the airport while he was trying to leave to Singapore on Monday night.

According to reports, he is a self-proclaimed astrologer and works at an astrology centre in Liverpool.

    How many astrologers caught in India till today for repeatedly raping and duping a woman on the pretext of solving her domestic problems and their sick children.
    How many girls were raped in the inner room of the astrologer in the pretext of offering Special Puja? when her parents were waiting outside the room.
    How may married women who could not conceive were raped and then black mailed by these kind of people ?

    Muniyappa told astrology to a minor girl for free and raped her. Is it western culture or Indian Culture ?

    We have lot of groups in India who proclaim themselves as protectors of our culture but they do not have . . . . . to raise voice against such incidents ? Is it not Evil act ? Shame on you guys.

    @Beowolf mangalore anyone who believes in Astrology is alright.Afterall it is alright.In Hindu religion .marraiges are conducted or any religious deeds according to astrology.

    But one shouldnt go to extreem.Like this man.He not only brought bad name to indians but to himself too.Raping a minor in name of astro.revealed himself now to police.Thank God he must have thought getout soon before case becomes out.His bad luck ,and good luck to many others.Who knows how many others he had lured?Now madiddu unnu in Australia and tell others too about it.Now he can tell astrology about others there inside.see what you get-.

    Are you telling me that we need to allow this stupid belief within religion to exist because it serves some purpose? Is this the first article you have read that such a thing happened? no. This happens many a time just to ignore. And that too we hear only the once that have been reported. there might be many such cases where it is not reported.

    I believe in eradicating and belief or tradition that does absolutely nothing for the well being of humans. Here you are just heard about a young girl was sexually assaulted, but what about astrologers fooling thousands of people to pay up for a non-sensical solution to their problems that these con men say that they have solutions to.

    I really believe that religious people are a huge part of the problem. There is a direct correlation between the people who believe in God and belief in astrology because both are irrational beliefs.

    @Beowolf mangalore,I am not telling you to believe, or others.But once this belief is set in minds of people you cant erase it.Astrology is quite different than this man made to believe.This man lured people and this girl for his purpose.There are people who do learn Astrology .They serve other purpose than these con men.Of course I dont pay a penny to these people.Neither believe in them.

    In germany..only occtapus can become astrologer. In last soccer world cup event it played a key role. People betting on it...as per it's advise.
    All the time use to tell the truth. In last match it fell upside down..people's money gone to sponsor all. People become paupper overnight.
