Kundapur, Jan 22: Police have arrested a couple, suspected to have stolen cash and valuables from the house of former employer and recovered the loot from them. The suspects are identified as Sridhar (32) and his wife Swathi (26) residents of Mayyarakeri near Uppunda school entrance, Kundapur.
It is said that Sridhar had worked in the house of Satwadi Dinaker Shetty, Kandavar village and left the job after gaining all information of the house and its structure.
It is suspected that Sridhar broke the door and entered the house along with his wife Swathi on January 20 after making sure that there is nobody inside. They stole diamond wedding chain, four gold bangles, one gold chain and Rs 36,000 cash from the Godrej cupboard, a total worth of Rs 3,56,000 and fled.
Kandlur police had spread a net for their arrest. The team of Kandlur SI Sridhar Naik took part in the operation under the leadership of DySP B P Dinesh Kumar and police circle inspector Manjappa under guidance from district SP Laxman Nimbargi.
