Bengaluru, Jan 22: It is said that differences between legislators Anand Singh and Bheema Naik was the main reason for Kampli MLA J N Ganesh to attack Singh at a resort in Bidadi.

Sources reveal that Singh and Naik had entered into a debate as Singh had proposed one of his relatives as a potential candidate to contest the next Assembly polls from Hagaribommanahalli constituency. Naik who is currently the MLA of the constituency was upset with Singh’s proposal.

Both the legislators had also verbally fought in the recent meeting of Congress Legislature Party (CLP) but were pacified by senior leaders.

On early hours of January 20, it is said that Ganesh was actually trying to broker peace between Naik and Singh but then things got out of hand.

Singh had approached Ganesh and asked about Bheema Naik, who was in the room at that time. At this point, Ganesh requested Singh to pardon the Hagaribommanahalli legislator for the previous episode.

But Singh was adamant that Naik tenders an apology and Ganesh took Singh to Naik’s room and it is said that Naik apologized. However, things got out of hand when Singh demanded that Naik apologizes at the CLP.

Here, Ganesh intervened and asked Singh to leave but then sources say that Singh manhandled Ganesh and Naik. This lead to fisticuffs and eventually Ganesh smashed a liquor bottle on Singh in a fit of rage.
