Puttur, Jan 22: After two groups belonging to members from two different religions fought near Periyashanti in Kaukrady village, a case stands registered against 13 persons in Uppinangady police station. Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police (SP), Lakshmi Prasad, visited the spot late night on Sunday and reviewed the situation. He also instructed the police to arrest the other culprits involved with the incident without delay.

Ramakrishna from Nelyady Dontila, Ajit from Patte, Shashi from Thota and Prakash from Ammunje were travelling in a car from the direction of Beltangady on January 20. It is alleged that this group tossed a liquor bottle at a pick-up vehicle involved with Islam religious activity and mocked at the people. This had resulted in pitched battle between people from these two groups. Jaffer and Muhammed Asgar from Kolpe got admitted into the government hospital in the city later. Ramakrishna from Dontila and Ajit from Patte got admitted into Adarsh Hospital here.

Jaffer and Asgar said that the other group, which was travelling in a car, had thrown a beer bottle at the vehicle engaged in publicizing an Islam religious programme and also jeered at them.

The SP who visited the spot also asked the police to identify other people involved with the incident and register cases against them. So far, cases have been registered against 13 persons from both the sides. The hospitals, where the accused have been admitted, have been provided with police security.

The people in the car have claimed that they had stopped their car near Periyashanti and were buying fruits when a gang which approached them and accused them of mocking at them and attacked them. They said that they were not the ones who had tossed the bottle and made fun of the people involved with the religious programme, but the other group did not heed to their claim that they were innocent.

I am sure this attack on innocents was pre planned by the anti Indians who praise and worship killer of Mahatma Gandhi.

As election is approaching they are planning to create disturbance everyswhere.

The happening in Nagoor near Byndoor recently is one of it where Chaddis threw pig meat in front of a masjid which was done with aim to bring differences between muslims and Christians. It was planned by sangh parivar and they came on the spot loaded with bear bottles in thecar and threw on the innocents. Police should seize the car and arrest all miscreants.
