Mysuru: Not possible to topple government, says CM Kumaraswamy

Mysuru, Jan 20: "Attempts are being made to bring President's rule and also form alternative government from the day I became the chief minister of Karnataka. However, they are not going to be successful in their attempts," said chief minister H D Kumaraswamy.

Kumaraswamy, who had come from Kolkata to the city for the trailer release of the movie 'Sitarama Kalyana', in which his son Nikil Kumaraswamy has acted, spoke to the reporters and said, "I do not have any fear as I have the required numbers as per the Constitution. Being the chief minister, I have given attention towards the development of the state. BJP is accusing us of hijacking their MLAs. But we are not going to do such operations."

"Resort politics is not right. However, Congress might have kept its MLAs in resort in order to thwart the various types and modes of attempts of BJP from grabbing their MLAs. There is no need to make any speculation about such move. We are not counterfeiting any move of the BJP. They have tried to entice MLAs of JD (S) also. Even then, we have not taken our MLAs to resort,” added Kumaraswamy.

    It is alleged that the recent rumbles in H D Kumaraswamy’s government, nicknamed Operation Lotus, have not been caused by the BJP, which knows it is well short of a majority.
    It was due to the infighting between Congress stalwarts, former CM Siddaramaiah and senior minister D K Shivakumar.
    Siddaramaiah, who was once in the JD(S), feels Kumaraswamy has marginalised him.
    Because of Siddaramaiah’s manoeuvres, some seven Congress MLAs went missing.

    A panicky CM approached a few BJP MLAs to counter Siddaramaiah’s move.
    In a bid to guard its flock, the BJP whisked all its MLAs to a resort in Gurugram

    ...But still very vulnerable. All the 5 years if at all you survive, the alliance will be on the toes , tensed, and watching what Yeddy says and moves. Moving MLAs from resort to resort. And suddenly when you are out of funds, you will increase the property tax, water and electricity charges in Bengaluru . If not you will increase fuel state wide. As it is,, Kannadigas are paying more for petrol. But they deserve it .
