Bengaluru, Jan 20: The daughter-in-law of a BJP corporator ended her life by hanging at her parental house in city on Saturday, on January 18.

Monica (30) from Sahakar Nagar in Kodigehalli, North Bengaluru is the deceased person.

Monica had married to BJP corporator Balakrishna's son Karthik in 2009, and the couple has two children. Due to disputes within the family, Monica moved back to her parents' home nine months ago.

BJP corporator Balakrishna represents the Yelachenahalli ward.

According to the police, Monica, on Friday afternoon, called up her friend Jayal Verma to discuss her problems. The police suspect she may have taken the extreme step after the call to Verma.

The incident came to light when Verma came to Monica's house to check on her as she was not responding to his calls. Verma repeatedly rang the doorbell and when there was no response, he brought a locksmith and broke open the door to find Monica hanging from the ceiling fan.

Monica did not leave any suicide note, police said.

Verma rushed Monica to a hospital and informed her parents. Doctors declared her brought dead.

The police have taken up a case of unnatural death and are investigating.

With due respect to the soul of Bangalore BJP corporator’s daughter-in-law; I always believe people who follow fanatic ideology irrespective of religion, are always rigid and never cares for other's feeling.

Some encouraging, consoling words from the family members could have saved this women's life. I feel pity for her 2 kids. May her soul rest in peace

@ Samad mangalore,to be friendly with her husband as you say, she called verma whoever he is, to discuss her problems.Because since long she was not in a familiar circumstances with husbands family, she was since nine months in mothers house. Why we cant say.Otherwise certainly she would contact her husband if their relationship was normal,or other way husband would contact her if he wanted.Personal problems can arise in any family ,politicians or normal cooly .sometimes you can better discuss problems with friends than own family.sad friend couldnt help her.May her soul rest in peace.Pity her children.Heartfelt sympathy to her children and parents.
