BJP to keep its flock in New Delhi for few more days

New Delhi, Jan 18: MLAs from Karnataka belonging to BJP, who have been kept in a luxury hotel in the outskirts of the city, are not leaving the city for a few more days. Although there were expectations that the flock would be moved to Karnataka today or tomorrow, it is gathered that the party leadership has decided to keep them here for a few more days.

BJP leaders are keeping their fingers crossed at the outcome of the Congress legislature party meeting scheduled at Bengaluru on Friday, January 18.

As per information, several of the legislators have expressed their desire to go back to their families, but the party has asked them to wait for four more days. They sought support of these MLAs by assuring them again that patience would yield sweet fruits, and they will get happy news shortly.

Some analysts, who are closely observing the developments, feel that the BJP leaders are now pinning hopes on the outcome of CLP meeting today. Once the meeting is over, if there are glimpses of hope for the saffron party, the legislators might be asked to stay on, or else they might be allowed to leave, it is said.

Nearly two dozen MLAs from BJP however, have been allowed to fly to Karnataka to go to Tumakuru where they want to meet centenarian Shivakumara Swamiji, revered head of Siddaganga Math, whose health condition has given rise to concerns. These legislators have been asked to come back once their purpose is served.

BJP state president, B S Yeddyurappa, who is currently staying in Siddaganga Math and has been keeping a close watch on the Swamiji's health condition, might return to Gurugram to extend moral support to his party MLAs. The MLAs, who had come here to take part in the national executive of the party on January 11, have been staying behind at an ITC Hotel at Gurugram since then at the request of top leadership of the party.
