Karkala: Youths who saved three lives in recent Bolero accident felicitated

Karkala, Jan 17: Two youths, who risked their own lives to save three people who had fallen in the Shambhavi river along with the Bolero jeep in which they were travelling, were felicitated on Thursday, January 17 at the Bola church.

Gunapal and Ashok, residents of Sankalakariya, who courageously jumped into the river as soon as the Bolero Jeep fell into the Shambhavi river were felicitated during the Week's mind mass of Late Diana, who lost her life in the tragedy.



The parish priest of Bola Church, Fr Anand did the felicitation. Fr Henry Mascarenhas was emotional while congratulating both the young men. Stany Mascarenhas, husband of deceased Diana, Sherman, Sheldon, children of Stany and other family members were present on the occasion. The relatives of Stany also offered their sincere thanks to all others who had helped during the tragedy.

    I have no words to express on the bravery of Gunapal and Ashok who saved the lives of Stany Mascarehas and his children Sherman and Sheldon when the Bolero jeep accidently fell into the Shambhavi river. Unfortunately, Stany's wife Diana could not be saved. May her soul RIP. God bless those two who rescued three people. These two risked their lives and should be called heroes.

    Well done Dear Ashok and his friend , As i know Ashok personally he saved so lives in the past , he was my classmate in the school , I still remember some years he gave life to so many woman's after they were in problem one of the hotel in Mumbai,
    Thanks to to Parish persist of Bola to take this good cause and make good gesture , sympathies to all the family for the sudden demise and tragic loos of Diana , May her soul rest in peace,

    Rescuing others under such accident condition not easy... They had very less time and people inside may have already some other injuries too...
    I wish DK district administration take a note from this page and reward these two youths cash award... Their effort was not a small one..
