Udupi, Jan 16: Deputy Commissioner of the district, Priyanka Mary Francis released the final list of voters of the district on Wednesday, January 16, at DC conference hall here and said, "Considering January 1, 2019, as the qualifying date, the voters list is finalized. If anyone wants to add names to the voters' list, they can apply anytime."
Speaking to the media Priyanka Mary said, "The district Election Commission (EC) received 10,273 applications for various reasons. 7,099 applications for deletion of names, 3,374 for the amendments and 755 under form 8A. Four applications from NRIs received under Form 6A. Around 4,793 young voters have registered their names up to December 2018.
"In order to encourage more young voters to take part in the political process, according to the direction of Election Commission of India and Chief Election officers Bengaluru, Udupi district administration has decided to hold district level ‘Voters' day’ on Friday, January 25 at Sri Lakshminarayan auditorium (Town hall). Voters' day will be held at all taluk level and polling areas. On the same day, EPIc card will be given," added the deputy commissioner.
DC Priyanka launched district level Voter help line center at the DC office for the upcoming Lok Sabha election 2019. The toll free number is 1950. Voters can get any information regarding the voting process by dialing this number. She urged the public to make use of this benefit. It has started functioning from January 16.
Considering January 1, 2019, as the qualifying date, the district election commission has made the total voters’ list of Constituency Assembly.

Out of the grand total of 9,90,773 voters for the district, 4,77,243 are men and 5,13,523 are women.
