Puttur: Man working as KSRTC mechanic ends life

Puttur, Jan 16: A person working as mechanic for Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) ended his life by hanging himself on Tuesday January 15 evening. The incident was reported from Mottethadka in Kemminje village in the outskirts of the city.

The victim has been identified as Maleyappa (30), native of Valasangi village in Basavana Bavewadi, Vijayapura district.

Maleyappa was working in the KSRTC depot at Mukrampady here. He committed suicide in the rented room where he was residing. Maleyappa stayed there with his wife and a small baby. He was on leave since a week. On Tuesday evening, he made a noose from a sari and hanged himself from it.

Ill health and addiction to liquor are said to be the reasons for this suicide. On the basis of complaint filed by his wife, Gowramma, the town police here have registered a case and begun probe.
