Bengaluru: Jolt for ruling coalition in state - two MLAs withdraw support

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Jan 15: The ruling coalition of JD(S) and Congress have suffered a set back in Karnataka after two MLAs who were supporting the government withdrew their backing.

It is learnt that H Nagesh and R Shankar have called it quits and are no more with the coalition government.

Their withdrawal means the coalition government is down to a strength of 116 MLAs now.

R Shankar (L) and H Nagesh

Speaking to media, Nagesh said, "My support to coalition govt was to provide good and stable govt which utterly failed. There is is no understanding among coalition partners. So, I decided to go with BJP to install stable government and see that government performs better than the coalition."

Shankar said, "Today is Makar Sankranti, on this day we want a change in the government. The government should be efficient, so I am withdrawing my support (to the Karnataka government) today."

R Shankar, a Karnataka Pragnyavantha Janatha Party (KPJP) MLA from Ranebennur, and H Nagesh, an independent from Mulbagal had supported the coalition government last year.

The BJP lowered the value of Indian Democracy and people's mandate similar to 'Mujra' or 'Dance bar'.

    1. Do this nation as autonomous Election Commission of India?
    2. Do this nation need expensive elections on taxpayers money if elected MLA's and MP's can be purchased like an online commodity?
    3. Why there is anti-defection law is not applicable to these MLA's crossing over from one party to the others?
    4. Why the Association of Democratic Rights and like-minded citizens of India is not filing PIL for an urgent hearing on the defection to save democracy?
    5. Why there are no Enforcement Directorate raids on this hopping MLA's sold in crores?

If one carefully studies the winning seats of BJP in all the states elections recently held it is closed to the required mark. Perhaps EVM's very thoughtfully rigged so the doubt of voters should be eliminated and operation Kamala can be crafted later.

BJP is the single largest party in Ktaka. It was bad luck they lost by few seats. Nobody in Ktaka wanted JDS or even Cong for the matter. The results are very clear. JDS lost in 100 plus seats 75 of them lost deposits. Cong was reduced from 140 to 70 , So it was a alliance of losers for a benfit . its destined to fall. Perhaps after 2019 elections, it might definitely fall if not earlier.

Pls start a campaign to ban switching of parties after they won from a particular party.either they hv to stay in the same party for the full term or should be disqualified if they don't want to stay in the same party .let bypolls take place.

Anti-Defection law is there already. By making sure the leaders defect to other party, it means they automatically get disqualified which brings down the majority number. given the opposition party have same number of MLAs, and ruling party loses the MLAs the opposition parties have the edge of proving the government's minority within a few days

Its Makara Sankranti, on this day we want a change in my fortune. My government should be efficient. Deposit all amount in fake names. Cash flow is more than pre-demonetization time. No one is bothered about efficiency in government. Not less than 100 croes already given. Otherwise Makara Sakranthi issue would not have arisen. Yeddi make emergency trips to Delhi, you remember. To anticipate Makara Sankranthi.

For all who are saying about 'hijacking' ' poaching' et etc. The MLAs here are grow up men and not school children who can be hijacked, Come on! Congress is a sinking ship and it was evident when SP & BSP did not want to work with Mr, Bean of India. SP & BSP has announced that Mayawati will be the PM candidate of their alliance. I would not be surprised if HDK goes to Amit and strikes deal of a good pay check for the next four and half years so he can sit at home and relax after pullin his support .

Those who are changing the sides should have 10 years ban to contest any elections. then only democracy will prevail..

out of DeMo BJP made lot of money and now they are using to buy MLA's of other parties

This is "democracy" and you can't compel anybody to support any party. It is individual right under Constitution to resign the seat and or contest again.when somebody (ANATH KUMAR HEGDE), said the Constitution to be changed you ppl cried from the roof top that it is AKH /BJP is damaging the Constitution. Now you say put more restriction on such elected members who change parties. They use their right under the "said Constitution". So you feel the pinch now and now you too want to change the Constitution (Rules).

So it has no moral or ethical right to continue and no wro g in destabilising such Govt by using democratic way
