Mangaluru: Forest officials confiscate car, wild boar flesh, from poacher

Mangaluru, Jan 15: A team of forest officials who intercepted a Maruti Omni van at Kanitarabail in Mundadi, Kadoor village near Brahmavar in the district, found ten kg of wild boar flesh inside. The team confiscated the flesh as well as the vehicle on the night of January 13.

In addition to the flesh, a knife, machete and a weighing scale were recovered. The accused, identified as Dinesh belonging to the tribe of nomads at Hosadi, Shivamogga, succeeded in escaping.

Brahmavar deputy range forest officer, Jeevandas Shetty, forest guards, Suresh and Shivappa Naik, headquarters in-charge deputy range forest officer at Udupi, H Devaraja Pana and others took part in the operation.
