Udupi, Jan 14: Special prayers were offered on behalf of Kodavoor Shankaranarayana temple at Malti Island, near Malpe to Parashakthi deity on Makar Sankranti, January 14. There is no human habitation here. However, poojas are being offered on Makar Sankranti day every year.

Special mass prayers were offered this year for the safe return of seven fishermen followed by pooja to the sea.

Temple managing committee president Prakash G Kodavoor, members Janardhan Kodavoor, Raju Sherigar, Sudha N Shetty, Baby Mendon, Chandrakanth, Service committee’s Bhaskar Bhat, Govinda Aithal, Sham Sunder Bhat, fishermen’s leader Raviraj Suvarna, Harish Kotian, Sathish Kotian and others were present.
