Udupi: 19 people being treated for monkey fever

Udupi, Jan 13: As many as 19 people of areas nearby Sagar taluk of Shivamogga district are being treated at Manipal hospital for suspected monkey fever.

The deaths of monkey is continuing in the taluk of Kundapur. On Saturday, January 12, six more monkeys died in Marashi of Kandlur, Ganganadu of Byndoor, Konjadi and Tonnase of Belve gram panchayat limits and Salwadi of Madamakki Kalavara. With these six deaths, the total death toll of monkeys has risen to 15.

In Ujire of Beltangady taluk one dead body of monkey was recovered. So the toll here in this taluk has risen to three now.
