Ousted CBI chief Alok Verma resigns from service

New Delhi, Jan 11 (IANS): Ousted CBI chief Alok Verma resigned on Friday, a day after he was shifted from the post by a high-level committee chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Verma, who was transferred as Director General, Fire Services, Civil Defence and Home Guards, refused to take up the new job and instead sent his resignation to the government.

"... Also, it may be noted that the undersigned would have already superannuated as on July 31, 2017 and was only serving the government as Director, CBI, till January 31, 2019, as the same was a fixed tenure role.

"The undersigned is no longer Director, CBI, and has already crossed his superannuation age for DG Fire Services, Civil Defence and Home Guards. Accordingly, the undersigned may be deemed as superannuated with effect from today," he said in his letter to Personnel Secretary Chandramouli C.

Verma's two-year tenure as CBI chief was to expire on January 31.

It is very clear that Modiji has personal interest in this case. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense to sack/ transfer such a High Profile personality immediately after reinstating of him by the Supreme Court. It seems, Modiji doesn't want Mr. Verma to continue at any cost. Nevertheless, Mr. Verma had only about 19 days remaining in his duty before his term is supposed to expire. Transfer at this stage? Nothing makes sense here.

In October, Alok Verma had been sent on forced leave by the Modi government in a MIDNIGHT operstion in which OFFICERS OF HIS TEAM were also transferred.

My question is why was he sacked not even waiting for the next morning? Was he involved in any Anti National Activity? Was he posing threat to national security for going for such an instant and swift action? Have you ever heard of any such example of Modi Government for going so swift against so many corrupt politicians? Why the exception only now? Further, Why his Team members were also transferred? All are corrupt?

The guys who transferred him were not even aware of the above fact as stated by Verma, which amply demonstrated that this transfer was done in utmost "haste and desperancy" for obvious reasons!!! WHERE ARE WE HEADING???

I have observed from media report that, Astana gave complaint first against his boss Verma regarding corruption in August 2018. Complaint was registered with Indian government secretary or so...
But much later (in Oct 2018) cbi registered case against Astana to demoralise him... Looks like Astana is efficient officer..

    @Sri,
Asthana is a well known hand picked man by Srimanji. Even if we your argument about Asthana complaining first, that may be a conspiracy itself to suppress powers of Alok Verna with the complete backing from BJP. Supreme court reinstated Verma as the Director again. What does it demonstrate? Further, Your favourite BJp MP Subramanyam Swami has also said that it can never happen that Alok Verna can be a Corrupt man.

The Haste with which the Prime Minister called the meeting of the high powered committee clearly betrays his Guilt Conscience and his desperation to sack the CBI Chief without any further delay to save himself from the disclosures that he is deeply involved in the Rafale Scam. The country will not rest until the Truth is revealed as the PM himself is involved.

The country is convinced what Rahul Gandhi has often stated that the "Chowkidar Chor Hai".

The PM and the BJP have no option but to prove their innocence as these desperate actions on the part of the PM himself and the massive coverup by the BJP raises the needle of suspicion and confirms the worst fears that the PM himself is deeply involved in this scam.

The person inimical to Alok Verma in Asthana A Gujarati IPS officer and a Modi Chamcha who cooked up these false allegations against Alok Varma to save his Boss. The CVC played the role of a willing Villian in this whole episode.

It is a Joke that Alok Varma was removed as CBI Chief on corruption charges and posted as DG Fire Services. Well if he is Corrupt sack him, Arrest Him and Charge Him. How can the Govt Justify transferring of the CBI Director on Corruption Charges.

Suspicious developments. Clearly shows something is wrong somewhere. Seems to be ousting was a pre- planned one.
Best example is in the kannada movie 'Golibar', where a sincere police officer was sent to a jail by a new corrupt government, a child asks there, 'why are they sending you to jail but last time you were falicitated for your work?'
Then the hero says, 'that is reward from old government & this is the reward from the new government' !!

There is no doubt that Chaiwala is the modern day Hitler. He does not tolerate anyone who goes against him.
He was damn sure that Alok would have dug his grave even with a very short period of 20 odd days left for his retirement. Hence, this urgency to remove him.
Salute to Alok Verma for his guts to resign and give a tight slap on the chor chowkidar of this country.
Alok should join some opposition party and spill out all the beans of what has gone in the last 4.5 years in the CBI management or mis management.

Good move, how much more humiliation can he suffer ? I presume Mr. Varma is an upright officer who had to bear the brunt of unscrupulous powers. Burecrats are educated and experienced, they move up the ladder on.merit, unlike the Politicians whose agenda has very little to do with the improvement of the Nation.
