Mangaluru: Minister Gadkari asks to speed up road work in Dakshina Kannada

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jan 8: Union minister for surface transport and highways, Nitin Gadkari, instructed L&T Company which has been given contract to execute widening of national highway (NH) 75 between B C Road and Addahole, to settle legal disputes fast and continue with road widening work at a brisk pace. MP Nalin Kumar, who gave this information, stated that the minister asked L&T Company and National Highways Authority of India to see that the work is executed at the earliest.

A special meeting presided over by Nitin Gadkari to discuss problems associated with national highways passing through Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency was held at New Delhi on Monday. Union minister, D V Sadananda Gowda, and MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, who were present, explained the problems encountered in executing national highway work in Dakshina Kannada district. After learning that the pace of work on national highways in this district has been moving at a sluggish pace, the minister ordered the same to be executed speedily.

The minister instructed Navayuga Company to complete remaining works under Talapady - Kundapur highway widening work and flyovers at Pumpwell and Thokkottu at the earliest, and facilitate traffic on them by February end.

NHAI chief general manager, Alok Deepanker, NHAI Bengaluru regional office executive, R C Sooryavamshi, secretary of the minister, Vaibhav Dange and high level officials were present.

The minster also asked state level officials to speed up land acquisition process on Kulshekar - Karkala, B C Road - Kateel, Melkar - Konaje - Thokkottu stretches. He promised to take part in the inaugural of Talapady - Kundapur highway and laying of foundation stone for the proposed highway before February end.

Wish our MP had done work in the same speed as the last two months for the last 2 terms he had.....imagine how much more development could have happened in Mangalore...... his attempts now seems like an eye wash as the elections are around the corner...... if he gets elected...he will again go to sleep again till the last 3 months of the 2024 elections....
No doubt Nithin Gadkari is good.... he would make a good PM....
But Mangalore for the sort of educated and intellectual population that is there in this belt....we deserve a good well educated efficient candidate to represent us.....rather than a 10th pass candidate.....irrespective of any party.....
I am not trying to belittle the education background.....the candidate can make up with efficiency..... but even if that is lacking.... we have to seriously think as to who would represent us....
ours is a democracy and we should vote for the best and the most efficient candidate who represents us.....irrespective of the party...
What’s the point if we have a good national leader in the centre.....but we have a pappu here who would represents us.... it would defeat the purpose....

I apologise in advance if anyone feels offended...

Minister Gadkari is a performing minister fully dedicated to his job.
If only he had done this job before two three years, surely BJP had much much better chance of winning in DK.
Which ever the party win 2019, Mr Gadkari should continue as the minister for surface transport and highways minister

I think everybody started endorsing that Nitin Gadkari & Sushma Swaraj are good Ministers in NDA Govt, they not only work hard but also are impartial.
In their work areas, they have never exhibited any regional bias!
Union Ministers should be of broad mind and good sense to choose national interest over regional interest.
