Actress Ester Noronha graces annual day of Milagres English medium school Kallianpur

Udupi, Dec 23: Milagres English Medium High school and Primary School, Kallianpur celebrated 38th annual day at Milagres Tri-Centenary Hall in an exuberant manner on Dec 19 and 20.

Ester Noronha, actress of Konkani blockbuster ‘Sophia’ was the chief guest for annual day of primary school. Fr Anil D’Costa, principal of Trinity Central school, Perampally was the chief guest for High school section’s annual day celebration.

Dr Neri Cornelio, vice-president of Milagres Cathedral parish pastoral council presided over the function in the absence of correspondent Fr Dr Lawrence C D Souza.

 

Addressing a huge gathering of parents and students Ester recalled her school days and how her mother encouraged her to grow in her talents. She said that children’s must be allowed to explore atleast a bunch of talents during the primary school years. He further stressed that education that prepares human beings is the need of the hour. 

Ester Noronha sang two numbers for the audience including the famous album song Despacito. Dr Neri Cornelio stressed the need for all round development in this modern era and applauded the performance and specially compering skills by children.

Fr Lancy Fernandes SJ, principal, presented the annual report with record of events and activities, achievements and facilities. Ganesh Perampally and Sunitha Lasrado, PTA presidents, Hema and Reginald Lewis were present.

Endowment prizes were distributed by the chief guest. Students who excelled in sports at state and national level were honoured. Ester Noronha was felicitated for bagging best Konkani Actor award for the film ‘Sophia.’

School pupil leader Ankita Bhat welcomed the gathering and Mohd Afwan proposed the vote of thanks. The cultural programme enthralled the jam packed hall. With dances, tableaus, dances, songs, mime and video presentations.

Ashlita compered the programme. Every item of the cultural programme revolved around the theme of the academic year – “Recognising the presence of Divine in Nature.” The highlight of the entertainment programme was musical piece, English skit, Kannada skit and Christmas tableau and carol singing.
