Puttur, Dec 18: Jaison Sequeira’s second music concert ‘Dusro Sur’ was presented at Mai da deus church, Puttur on December 16. The second instalment of ‘Sur’ series was a rare Konkani musical event with just music for a span of 90 minutes. Twelve of Jaison’s selected compositions were presented by a team of 25 singers and musicians.

The entire concert stood on a storyline written by Jaison himself and enacted by Jenevia Sequeira and Jackson D’cunha. The evening started with a Christmas carol ‘Anthrallim Bhodve Gaythath’ sung by the entire group which included Blue Angels Choir led by Denzil Pereira and young singers from Gurpur parish led by Vijay Rasquinha.

Jaison Sequeira had presented Poilo Sur last year at Kalaangann. During Durso Sur seven new compositions were performed live for the first time and five songs from ‘Ho Jeev’ album. Jaison sang ‘Vishwas Tuzo’, ‘Gadir Ek Bob’, a Hindi song ‘Akela Mein’ and a duet song ‘Kazar Zathaigi’ with Mhozo Thallo Gaythalo (MTG) finalist Velita Lobo.

MTG finalist Jason Lobo sang ‘Jinyechi Sanz’. Another finalist Aslita Lobo was also present in the team. Soad 4 Rani Kogull Jacqueline Fernandes enthralled the audience with ‘Chori’ and ‘Leesha’, a peppy number from Jaison’s debut album ‘Ho Jeev’. Konkani singing sensation Robin Sequeira performed two songs. Upcoming singer Raneesh Rodrigues performed a medley of selected baila songs of all legendary Konkani composers.

Music for all the un-released songs was arranged by Roshan Crasta. He also played the lead guitar. The team of musicians included Vijay Noronha (Bass guitar), Ashwin Sequeira (Drums), Alron Rodrigues and Vijay Rasquinha (Keys).

Dusro Sur was sponsored by Olvin Rodrigues and family in association with the Christian Life Community, Puttur. The sponsors were honoured by Fr Alfred J Pinto who was present throughout the programme and appreciated the melodies of Dusro Sur.
