Inhuman, power hungry: BJP gets flak over photo of ailing Parrikar on Goa bridger

Panaji, Dec 17 (IT): Priti Gandhi, a senior leader in the BJP Mahila Morcha, thought Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar's inspections of two Goa bridges on Sunday were the "perfect example of dedication and commitment". But others weren't so quite delighted when they saw the photos. They noticed that Parrikar, who suffers from a pancreatic ailment, had a tube in his nose.

"How inhuman to force him to continue working and doing photo-ops," said Omar Abdullah, the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir. "Why can't he be allowed to deal with his illness without all this pressure and tamasha?"

Priyanka Chaturvedi, a spokesperson for the Congress party, sounded just as horrified. "Take care CM saab, because clearly, your party won’t," she tweeted.

Parrikar, 63, inspected an under-construction bridge on the Mandovi river on Sunday. It was his first public appearance since he returned to Goa on October 14, after being hospitalised at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi. Later, he inspected another bridge.

Officials said Parrikar had been recuperating at his house since October 14, and that this was the first time he moved out of it.

The Congress has been alleging that Parrikar's ailment and his absence from office have brought Goa's administration to a standstill.

Drama and photo op, just so that the BJP Governor of Goa can dismiss any challenge from the Opposition for a Floor test - No Confidence motion.

I had a lot of respect for Manohar Parrikar's austerity until his modification in 2014.

ha ha ha..The poor fellow is not able to stand even! just observe the picture.

He has kept his left hand on the wall of the bridge..he is slightly bent.
The person who is behind Parrikar is holding his back with his right hand.
Above all, he is carrying a wind pipe on his nose!!
Really pathetic! Parrikar is totally exhausted and his health condition is not good at all.

BJp wants him to spend his last days in office to get sympathy vote. Height of chaiwala and daku shah theory..Tum mare tho bhi hum jeelein

    @Kumara,

I think, you meant to say- until dead keep working. Because he nowhere looks fit to say- Until fit keep working.
by the way, what was the real necessity of the inspection of the bridge in this health condition? Isn't there a designated Consultant asigned to the Project?

This is an Insult to the people of Goa as the BJP is unable to wriggle out of the past hijacking of the popular mandate of the People.

Certainly Inhuman to force Paarrikar to indulge in such photo opps in such a state.

What can we expect from a party; who has a feku leader, who, for the sake of publicity, made to stand her mother at the age of 95 Years, in the queue of a bank, at the time of demonetization. Wasn't there anyone (son?) really to lend her some cash to buy the daily grocery? .

Look at his condition and physical appearance.
Time to relax and pass remaining life (days) peacefully.
Even from BJP’s present political condition, it seems to be counting days.
