Special trains should be between point to point with stops only at major junctions only. It will not only save time but al lot of inconvenience also to passengers. Several of the stations enroute where the stops have been scheduled are irrelevant and not important. Surathkal, mulki, Kundapura, Byndoor, Kumta can be skipped.

Considering the fully booked status of seats to and fro of Mangalore and Mumbai, it is a good initiative from railway. But, there is a catch. The fare is not normal, but at special rates, which is more or less equivalent to tatkal fares in all the three classes. Earlier, there were instances, when special trains were introduced with special rates, railways did not get good response, but, that may not be the case with people of Mangalore.

We need trains from Mangalore to Bangalore and Bangalore to Mangalore all the time. The bus people are charging 1500 for one way journey during the festive season and still difficult to get the tickets. No one to question them. Senior citizens are finding very difficult to travel by bus also families with small children. We do need extra trains between Mangalore and Bangalore.

Sorry to say Grettaji, your hope will just remain a dream till the private bus lobby of DK is there. They will never allow any alternate mode of transport to develop between Mangalore to Bengalore..
Hope you know that the people of ati buddivanthara jille are useless when it comes to pressurizing and protesting in matter like this.

A day time train from Mangalore to Bangalore is a dream of several people fr decades. Kharge, DVS being Railway ministers could not do it!! Our MPs Nalin and Shaba are just unfit to even talk about it!! I guess people like Lobo, Sorake or Brisjesh Chowta are capable of making a difference.
