Mangaluru Dec 15: “While no one has opposed the construction of Ram Mandir, then why is BJP organizing protests and conventions? It’s just to gain political mileage,” lashed out District JD(S) President Mohammed Kunhji.

Addressing a press meet on Saturday, December 15, Kunhji said “Ram Mandir should be constructed at Ayodhya as no one is opposing its construction. Even Muslims have not stated their opposition. It should be constructed by taking people into confidence, with an open dialogue so that there is no trouble in its construction.”

Taking a dig at the BJP he said, “BJP is ruling in the Centre and even in Uttar Pradesh. Then why has Ram Mandir not been constructed? Modi can visit Abu Dhabi to inaugurate Ram Mandir, then why is he not able to construct it in his own country? In the last four years, BJP did not speak about Ram Mandir. Even Prime Minister Modi did not visit Ayodhya in last four years,” he said.

"Former minister B Janardhana Poojary has said that Ram Mandir will be built for sure. I don’t know which party Poojary belongs to. When Babri Masjid was demolished he was the one who opposed it and now he says Ram Mandir will be built for sure,” he said.

JD(S) opposes privitisation of Mangaluru airport

"We strongly condemn the privitisation of Mangaluru International Airport and it is totally wrong to do so as it belongs to state government,” said Mohammed Kunhji.

Congress needs to wake up

“In the upcoming election if coalition government makes a strong candidate to contest in the election then we can definitely win the elections. Congress needs to wake up and speak up to issues than maintaining silence. If we work together then we can definitely win the elections,” he opined.

District Youth JD(S) president Akshith Suvarna, JD(S) leaders Vasanth Poojary, Sushil Noronha and others were present.

Dear Sir, you and the airport employees do not want Mangalore Airport privatization! We users want it to be privatized for better facility and organised operations!! Who is important ??? Airport user or employee/ politicians???? Bombay, Bangalore, Delhi passengers are enjoying due to privatisation....while Mangalore Airport users are struggling with one luggage belt, one scanner, no Ola / Uber and bad roads connecting Airport, chaotic traffic at arrival and departure points!!!! Organised management is better than mafia control.......!!

BJP wants this issue to be live for elections. I strongly feel before 2019 elections foundation stone will be laid but construction will never be done before 2024 elections. If they have not lost in MP, Rajastan and Chatthisgarh even the foundation stone will not be laid also.

As a common man I believe for the sake of ending the issue in the general public interest and to end selfish political motive using ram mandhir issue, Ram Mandhir has to be built fast not in the same site but other than the place where the structure stood. Whoever built the masjid it was the emotional thing for Muslims when it was destroyed to create panic among a community people. Whatever properties owned at present was owned by some others in the past centuries ago as it was acquired by some powerful people by various means. it does not sound good if you ask a property owner to return back as it was owned by your grand father and he lost it.

BJP is shocked, demoralized and confused with recent election results from 5 states more so which are Hindi heartland. Even future prospects in 2019 general elections there is no scope for BJP to win. 2014 was one of rarest event out of the blue for BJP when they were expecting the least. This event will never occur for BJP anytime soon unless there is some radical change in BJP and people are convinced thoroughly.
