Rahul crossed limits of propriety, decency by almost condemning SC: BJP

New Delhi, Dec 14 (PTI): The BJP on Friday accused Rahul Gandhi of "almost condemning" the Supreme Court for dismissing the pleas challenging the Rafale fighter aircraft deal, and said the Congress president crossed all limits of propriety, decency and probity in public life.

Union Law Minister and senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad launched a counter-attack on Rahul Gandhi, saying the apex court had "exposed his lies" which he has been using to attack the "honest and popular" Prime Minister.

With Rahul Gandhi reiterating his "chowkidar chor hai" (watchman is thief) barb against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Prasad dubbed his remarks "shameful" and "cheap", and accused him of using an abuse against the Prime Minister.

Rahul and his mother Sonia Gandhi are themselves facing a trial on corruption charges, he said, referring to the National Herald case against them.

The BJP expected that Rahul Gandhi would accept the Supreme Court's verdict but it did not happen, Prasad said.

"He (Rahul Gandhi) crossed all limits of propriety, decency and probity in public life by almost condemning the Supreme Court. What does he mean? Is he above the Supreme Court? Is the Congress above the Supreme Court? What kind of language is this?" he asked.

Prasad said Rahul Gandhi's problem is his arrogance and conceit about his dynasty.

Notwithstanding the Supreme Court's verdict on the Rafale deal, Rahul Gandhi on Friday maintained that there was massive corruption in the contract and wondered why the CAG report "cited by the Supreme Court" on it had not yet been shared with the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament.

In a relief to the Modi government, the Supreme Court on Friday dismissed the pleas challenging the deal between India and France for procurement of 36 Rafale jets saying there was no occasion to "really doubt the decision making process" warranting setting aside of the contract.

yesterday judgement was delivered court clearly says for appointing CBI inquiry supreme court is not the authority. It is government at the central should appoint CBI to inquiry about such defense deal and kickbacks.
why modi is afraid about JPC inquiry about rafaele deal where that alleged anil ambani and himself involved in kickbacks. Yesterday's judgement was not about kickbacks of the deal but only about supreme court is the not authority to appoint CBI but It is central government work.
if modi and his sanghis are such a law abiding people, then why they not taken sabarimalai temple judgement in the same spirit on other way they are creating law and order problems in Kerala without respecting supreme court judgment.
there is no harm or fault by rahul gandhi saying CHOWKIDHAR CHOR HAI , simply because a inquiry has taken place still now regarding rafaele deal.

While lieing and propaganda may be legitimate political strategies in the minds of Rahul and his advisors – what is unforgivable and criminal is the impact of their infantile lies on national security modernization and on the psyche of the minds of those who serve in uniform. Some stories are so bad it should make us all angry. For instance, no other Airforce in the world is flying the Jaguar in 2018 other than the IAF. The Air Force is now planning to upgrade these and give a fresh life of another 25 years. The IAF had been compelled to continue with the old aircraft since new inductions invariably get stuck despite funds being available. While the politicians fought, and bureaucrats sat on files, time took its toll. It got so bad in the nineties that we were compelled to procure some 20-30 grounded MIG-21s from East European countries. This second-hand purchase was necessary to keep the IAF going

What was particularly unforgivable was the way Rahul Gandhi carried on this propaganda despite the damage to national security. It required the Air Chief and two serving Air Marshals to come out and clarify the process in and outside of court.
From early on, to many It was obvious that this Rafale noise was a distraction from the real scam in AgustaWestland helicopter purchase. It was also obvious that the information that Rahul Gandhi was using was at the behest of some competitors of Dassault.

Respite for the BJP, three days after its election debacle. Today the Supreme Court — in a thoroughly flawed judgment — dismissed petitions seeking a CBI inquiry into the Rafale deal. Instead, three judges with no tech or military knowledge cleared the deal on all counts.
There are few questions for the Prime Minister and dared PM Modi to call a press conference and give the answers to the following :

    1. Why was the negotiated price of ₹516 Crore per plane go up to ₹1,600 Crore?
    2. Why was public sector Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. dropped as the offset partner?
    3. Why was Anil Ambani’s firm favored by Dassault when it had neither land nor any experience and which had been formed a fortnight before the PM announced the new deal?
    4. Why did the Government kill job prospects of Indian youth by dropping the plan to manufacture 108 Rafale planes in India?
    5. Did the Prime Minister of India have the authority to decide on a defence deal on his own in April, 2015?
    6. Was the cabinet’s approval obtained after the deal was announced?
    7. While the Modi Government claims the earlier deal was not coming through, did Dassault announce a fortnight before the new deal was announced that the old deal was all but sealed and signed?

If Modi and BJP are so sure about RafaelDeal, why don’t they agree on JPC investigation? Let the citizens of India know everything.

These ministers have a severe heart-burn for losing three major states to Congress in the recent election. They are venting their anger in this case taking SC verdict as victory for them. Actually, the citizens are watching. SC verdict is based on false information given to the court by the govt. Govt has not released the CAG and PAC reports on Rafale deal to the parliament or public. But the court has based its judgement on a "redacted" copy of that report. On the top of that these ministers are blaming an opposition leader who is doing his duty.

FYI, Rahul Gandhi was not one of the petitioner nor any of his party member in Rafale deal case. Secondly, do you want to say anything about Sabarimala temple riots by BJP even after SC verdict. Your Bhkaths are still sitting in Sabarimala temple on protest against SC ruling. Amit Shah has spoken against court ruling about RAT YATRA in West Bengal.
