Bantwal, Dec 14: A person fell into the family well and lost his life at Alangaru in Vitlamudnur village in the taluk on Thursday December 13.

The deceased has been identified as Tukra Naik (60) from Alangaru. Tukra was peeping into his well as the pump set fitted inside the well was not working, and it was in need of repairs. When doing so, he accidentally lost balance, fell into the well water and drowned.

As the water level in this well was deep, the officials found it hard to bring his body out. Members of Friends Vittal from Vittal, which is involved with social service activities, succeeded in bringing the mortal remains out with great difficulty.

A case of unnatural death in this regard was filed in Vittal police station.
