Karwar, Dec 14: On Thursday December 13, scuba divers found that a coral reef had developed on the wreckage of a ship that had sunk near the light hill inside Arabian Sea. The ship in question had sunk several decades back.

'Oceal Sarayu', an Iran-based ship carrying oil had sunk in 2003 near the light house after crashing into the rocks. Experts had later lifted a portion of the ship while the other half remained inside water.

Scuba divers of Netrani Adventures, Murudeshwar, dived into the sea near the light house on Thursday. They found the wreckage of the sunken ship. When they drew nearer to the wreckage, they found that a coral reef had grown over it.
