Kundapur: Man dies after his car rams into tree

Kundapur, Dec 14: A person who was driving his car suddenly deviated from his path in an effort to avoid hitting a motor bike coming from opposite direction. In the bargain, his car hit a roadside tree, seriously injuring the driver and causing his death.

The incident happened at around 9.30 am on Thursday December 13 near Salvady Nadubettu Cross in Kalavara village on Koteshwar – Halady road.

The victim of this accident was Shankar Shetty (63), a retired employee of Vijaya Bank. He was a resident of Merdi in Molahalli village. The incident happened when he was moving in his Santro car with his wife and two other relatives. Although Shetty, who had suffered grave injuries, was taken to a private hospital here immediately, he breathed his last before medical attention could be provided. His wife too stands hospitalized.

Shetty had served at Halady branch of Vijaya Bank for many years. He has left behind wife, a son, and two daughters. A case in this respect has been registered in the traffic police station here.
