Beltangady, Dec 13: Lingappa (54) from Ponchettimar, Patrame near Kokkada in the taluk committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance near Patrame post office on Wednesday December 12. He was working for the postal department at Patrame post office.
As usual, Lingappa had come to the post office and attended duties. Thereafter, locals saw him in serious condition near the post offie, having consumed poisonous substance. They admitted him into the government hospital at Puttur but without responding to treatment, he died later.
On the basis of a complaint given by Yuvaraj, younger brother of the deceased, Dharmasthala police have registered a case of unnatural death and have begun investigation.
