Sullia: 313 devotees meet religious vows, perform 'Ede Snana'

Sullia, Dec 13: On account of annual Champa Shashti festival, 313 devotees offered 'Ede Snana' service to Lord Subramanya on Wednesday December 12 in return for favours received from the Lord and to meet the religious vows they had taken in the past. On Tuesday, which was Chowthi, 134 devotees had performed this ritual.

After the afternoon Maha Puja to the Lord, plantain leaves were laid out in the outer precincts of the temple on which rice and dishes were placed. Cows were then allowed to eat these things. The devotees rolled on the left overs thereafter.

President of the temple managing committee, Nityananda Mundody, executive officer, M H Raveendra, assistant executive officer, Chandrashekhar Peralu, managing committee members, Krishnamurthy Bhat, Madhava D, Ashok Nekraje and others were present.

Police personnel were present in sufficient numbers to monitor law and order situation.

Brahmarathotsava of the temple is being held on Thursday December 13.
