Kundapur: Temple theft - thieves take away cash, valuables along with CCTV, DVR

Kundapur, Dec 12: Thieves broke into Goddess Rakteshwari temple at Rajadi near Tallur here on the night of Monday December 10 and took away valuables and a donation box. They also took with them three CCTV cameras and a DVR unit to erase any trace of them.

The stolen items include golden Mangala Sutra around the neck of the presiding deity, silver aureole, box for silver donations from devotees, cash box etc. The loss has been estimated to be around two lac rupees.

This temple had been burgled last year after which three CCTV cameras had been fitted. Fingerprint experts arrived at the area and surveyed the spot for possible clues.



Police circle inspector from here, Manjappa, sub-inspector, Harish R Naik and other officials visited the spot. The police said that they have accessed fingerprints of the thieves which they are confident, will help in tracing them.
