After BSP announcement, SP offers support to Congress to form govt in MP

New Delhi, Dec 12 (PTI): In a shot in the arm for the Congress, the Samajwadi Party Wednesday announced its support to Rahul Gandhi's party to form government in Madhya Pradesh.

The announcement by SP chief Akhilesh Yadav came less than an hour after Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati made a similar offer to the Congress for government formation in the Hindi heartland state of Madhya Pradesh.

"The SP supports the Congress to form the government in MP," Yadav tweeted in Hindi.

The Congress, which was locked in a tantalising see-saw battle with the BJP in Madhya Pradesh, has emerged as the single-largest party with 114 seats after the vote count ended on Wednesday morning, according to the State Election Commission Office.

The party is, however, two short of the simple majority mark, 116 seats, in the 230-member Assembly. The BJP was close behind with 109 seats. The Bahujan Samaj Party won two seats and the Samajwadi Party one. Independents bagged four seats.

If Congress, BSP Had Allied in Madhya Pradesh, the Map Would Look Radically Different
In the 2013 assembly election, the BJP polled 44.88% while the Congress polled 36.38%. This translated into a landslide for the BJP, which won 165 to the Congress’s 58 seats.

The BJP and Congress vote shares neck to neck at 41.4% and 41%, with the BJP leading in 111 seats to the Congress’s 108 leads. While each successive round of counting may see the seats pendulum swing one way or the other, there is unlikely to be any dramatic change in the vote shares.

The vote swing in favour of the Congress is approximately 4.5%, and that has clearly not been enough to sweep into power.

The combined vote percentage of 45.63% would have given a Congress-BSP alliance 140 seats in Madhya Pradesh and reduced the BJP to just 85 seats.

It is way away from majority mark something BSP Supremo miscalculation has costed the party.

The urgency is SP-BSP-Congress has to come together in Uttar Pradesh if Mayawati needs to be central politics.

    Jai Hind

Chowkidaar and Tadipaar Tukloo are saying those who voted against BJP are anti-nationals should go to Pakistan. Sambit Phatra, Biplab Deb, Giriraj Singh and Yogi will start Rath YATRA to Pakistan and say those who oppose will be crushed under. Blind Bhakths are going to build some temple (Samadi) for themselves. What state BJP has come to. They don't know what they saying and what they are doing. Everything is becoming gibberish by them when the end nears.
This is BJP ANTIM YATRA and its Sarva Nash.

All isn't well elder, this could be a smart ploy of Chanakya to earn credibility to EVMs that he might've refrained from tampering this time. Come 2019 and he'll show his true colors, back to EVMs and a landslide victory ! Sounds cool isn't it? So, don't lose your heart, cheer up.

Supporting parties are bound to go with the wishes and whims of their VOTERS!
If their voters wishes are defied; their voters will desert them; means will loose their vote bank, which they can never afford!
Their very survival is solely defending on their voters!
