We accept people's verdict with humility, says Modi

New Delhi, Dec 11 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the BJP accepts with humility verdict of people in the five states and congratulated the Congress, Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and the Mizo National Front (MNF) for their victories.

Modi, in a series of tweets in the evening on a long day of results, said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) governments in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan had worked tirelessly for people.

"We accept the people's mandate with humility. I thank the people of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan for giving us the opportunity to serve these states. The BJP governments in these states worked tirelessly for the welfare of the people," he said.

Modi said victory and defeat were an integral part of life.

"Today's polls will further our resolve to serve people and work even harder for the development of India."

"Congratulations to the Congress for their victories. Congratulations to KCR Garu for the thumping win in Telangana and to the Mizo National Front (MNF) for their impressive victory in Mizoram."

The Prime Minister also thanked the BJP workers for their hardwork in the Assembly elections.

The Congress is set to form government in Chhattisgarh, where it routed the BJP after 15 years. In Rajasthan, the Congress emerged as a single-largest party ousting the BJP and is poised to form the next government.

In the closely fought battle in Madhya Pradesh, the Congress has reached close to the halfway mark in 230-member Assembly and was likely stake claim to for government with support of Independents and other parties. The BJP is following it as a close second.

The TRS is poised to win 77 seats in the 119-member Telangna Assembly. In Mizoram, the MNF has won majority by defeating the Congress.

We do not need your counselling now.
A premier who lives and campaigns elections speeches with fabricated events and hate politics deserves to be thrown out from political arena. Always depending on boneless tongues will not make justice. You are countries leader but because of political aspiration and being blinded power hunger you lowered yourself in the eyes of general public. At least act according to your age and be dignified in the future. Chai & Choukidar mentality should not interfere in good administration.
What is your new strategy towards forthcoming LS elections. You cannot fool people with you oratory powers and use some genuine brain power!

yes, it's a lesson learnt for Modi and BJP. I am a Modi fan... but yes, there has gone something wrong somewhere because of which people rejected BJP this time. time to evaluate and plan better for 2019 Loksabha election. But best fact to enjoy is that BJP didn't scribe on EVM nor thrashed EC offices... Election booths and all. Accepted with dignity. That's the difference. any ways, may be a momentary sad phase for BJP which will definitely come back with flying colours in next LS election.

Stop publicly insult your predecessor’s in election rally.
Don’t forget that you are PM of India….NOT Jujubi Politician.

Blaming Late Nehru for your worst performance would not work anymore.

Don’t forget that MP’s in Post Independent ( 1947-1967 ) are well educated, mostly in UK.
Don’t forget that, When India got independent , its financial strength was very week.

Major Institution’s , Educational Institutions, Industries, scientific research, are established between 1947-1972
Al though I hate Mrs. Indira for her domestic policy and politics, but Indian Armed Forces became Defensive to offensive during the time of Mrs. Indira Gandhi and became atomic power

Last Religion will NEVER fill poor’s stomach and growth of society.

Two great achievements of Modi: (1) Globe-trotting, (2) Campaigning. I hope, for at least for three-four months, he works as PM! Don't build statues, build India and its people and make it into a first world.

People never doubted EVMs, until an independent contestant got zero votes despite voting for self. It happened in none other's, but in BJP rule. Thereafter, even if BJP didn't touch the EVM, the blame is permanent.
