Bantwal: Modankap Cricket Friends organises 'Humanity Cup 2k18'

Bantwal, Dec 11: With an eye to uniting cricket lovers, with support from and for the diocesan cricket lovers, Modankap Cricket Friends recently organised 'Humanity Cup 2k18' at SVS temple school ground.

The event was held to lend a helping hand to 'Humanity Trust' run by Roshan Belman, an unsung hero responsible for many charity works irrespective of religion/caste/ political barriers.

The event began with a small prayer led by James Sequeira. 16 selected teams took part in the event. Nawaz, Azeez, Prashanth and Robin Baretto served as umpire, Joy Menezes gave the commentary and Gipson made the scoring.



The closing ceremony was led by Jessica D'Souza and Annet D'Souza. Pranam Kumar, manager of Vijaya Bank - Kaladka, Derick D'Souza, manager of Vijaya Bank - Virajpet, Valerian Crasta, proprietor of DJ Melody, Edwin D'Cunha, proprietor of Glow Decorators and the chief guest of the programme Fransis Saldanha, a writter, a socialist and propeietor of Santhosh Caterers.

Fransis Saldanha delivered a motivational talk to the youth and appreciated them for taking this kind of a step in making a difference in the life of the needy. The prizes bagged were Man of the Match - Valerian from Fajir, Best Batsman - Joel from Fajir, Best Bowler - Vishwas from Permannur, Man of the Series - Shawn from Permannur, the winners trophy was bagged by Fajir team and runners up trophy by Permannur team. The event went on a smooth flow. Deepak Pinto, James Sequeira and Robin Baretto coordinated the event.
