Belagavi, Dec 11: Anita Kumaraswamy, wife of Karnataka chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, who got elected as MLA of Ramanagara constituency during the recent bypoll, was present when the house met for winter session here on Monday December 10.

For the first time in the history of Karnataka, wife of a chief minister has been elected as MLA and taking part in the assembly proceedings along with him.

Anita Kumaraswamy had won from Madhugiri constituency in the bypoll necessitated by the resignation of JD(S) legislator, Gaurishankar, in the past. But Kumaraswamy had become ex chief minister by then.
