Udupi: Gang poses death threat to man after mosque committee meeting

Udupi, Dec 10: A complaint stands filed by Muhammed Haneef (40) from Hejamady in Padubidri police station, accusing a gang of posing death threats to him. The incident allegedly happened on the night of December 8 after the emergency meeting of the managing committee of a mosque on N S Road in Hejamady concluded.

The complainant has given the names of the gang members as H Sufi, Iqbal, Fayaz, Mustaq, Siraj alias Bantu, Iqbal alias Kudike and about 15 others. The gang members were holding sickles and cudgels when posing threats to Haneef, it is said.

It is said that Muhammed Haneef was sitting in his car after attending the said meeting when the gang members repeatedly knocked at the wind shields and doors of the car, challenging Haneef to come out of the car, and threatening to kill him.

Padubidri police have begun investigation into the incident.
