Bengaluru, Dec 9: In a bizarre incident that took place at the Kempegowda Internatinal Airport (KIA) in the city, a husband divorced his wife by saying 'Talaq' on WhatsApp and escaped by leaving his wife at the airport itself.
Dr Javid Khan, who is a medical doctor in USA is the person who has divorced his wife Reshma Azeez and escaped from the airport.
Javid and Reshma got married in the year 2003. For sometime the couple lived in London. Later they got shifted to USA with their family. The couple has a daughterm who is 13-years-old and a son of 10 years of age. The couple who were leading a happy life had some differences of late which had led to quarrel and unsatisfaction. In order to discuss this issue with elders, the couple had come down to Bengaluru, leaving their children at USA.
The couple had arrived to Bengaluru by Emirates flight on November 30. Javid took the passport, debit and credit cards of Reshma. As soon as they alighted in Bengaluru airport, Javid left Reshma in the security of the bouncers and returned to USA alone. After reaching USA, Javid has sent Talaq through voice as well as text message on WhatsApp.
Reshma, who is visibly disturbed on seeing the message of Javid on WhatsApp has approached Chetan Singh Rathod, DCP, north division of the city, MLA Suresh Kumar and central minister D V Sadananda Gowda pleading for justice.
